HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS

There were a couple of the high school basketball tournaments scheduled for the weekend that were still playing into the start of this week. Last night in girls action, Class B #2 Hammon overcame a 4th quarter deficit to beat Class 2A #8 Riverside 61-54. Class B #6 Arnett blew out Class B #13 Leedey 68-48. Erick slipped past Indiahoma 30-27. Granite whipped Tipton 55-38. Wford handled Bishop McGuiness 63-48. In those boys games, Riverside returned the favor against Hammon 56-44, Leedey outlasted Arnett 46-43 in OT, Erick smoked Blair 71-45, Duke handed Granite their first loss 65-44.

There are plenty of games available for your viewing pleasure tonight. Right here in Elk City the Brown and White welcome I-40 rival Weatherford. The girls’ game is #14 vs #15. The boys game features 4A #1 Wford. If you can’t make it out to the Pioneer Center tonight, no worries we’ll have you covered with the live video stream on bigelktv.com.

Paragontv’s got some games as well. C-R heads to Canute, AB’s at MVG, Leedey’s at Vici, and Merritt has the Battle for Beckham County in Sayre.

NFL WILDCARD ROUND RESULTS

The final Wildcard game of the weekend took place last night in Arizona with the Rams taking on the Vikings. The venue was changed from Sofi Stadium in LA because of the wildfires in California. That didn’t bother the Rams at all. LA scored early and often in a 27-9 win over the Vikings. That sets up next week’s Divisional Round: Houston’s at Kansas City Saturday afternoon followed by Washington at Detroit Saturday night. Philly’s at home against the Rams on Sunday afternoon with Baltimore at Buffalo the weekend capper Sunday night

THUNDER AT PHILLY TONIGHT

The Ok City Thunder finish up a 4 game East Coast road swing tonight in Philly against the Sixers. OKC’s 2-1 so far in the 4 games and get the luxury of a Joel Embiidless Sixers squad tonight. It’ll be a little tough for the Thunder to not overlook Philly tonight with Cleveland looming back inside Paycom Center on Thursday night. You can hear it live on 98.1fm and 1240 am. Pregame started at 4:30 with the early east coast tip to come at 6:00.
