HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS RANKINGS 

This week’s high school basketball rankings were released this afternoon. The girls rankings in Class 4A are littered again with Western Conf teams. Kingfisher is the highest ranked at #4, Bethany’s 7, Tuttle 9, Newcastle 11, Elk City stays at 14, Wford moves up to 15. In 2a girls, Merritt’s 7, Riverside 8, Hooker’s 12. Canute moved up a spot to #5 in the Class A girls rankings. C-R's 17th. In Class B Hammon’s #2, L-S 3rd, Arnett’s 6, MVG’s 12, Leedey’s 13. On the boys side in 4A, Wford’s #1, Bethany 9th, Blanchard 13. In Class A Binger-Oney's 5th, Canute’s #16, and Hydro-Eakly checks in at 19. In Class B, Calumet’s 1, Granite 4, Hammon 6, Duke 10, Leedey 11, Sentinel 14 

COLLEGE FOOTBALL NATIONAL TITLE GAME SET 

The first national title game in the 12 team playoff era is now set with both semifinals in the can. A night after Notre Dame knocked out Penn st, Ohio St joined them in the finals after dispatching Texas 28-14. The game was tied in the 4th when Ohio St took the lead 21-14 with about 7 minutes left. The Horns had a first and goal from the Ohio St one but fumbled on 4th and goal which led to an 82 yard scoop and score the other way for Jack Sawyer to finish off the Burnt Orange. Ohio ST and Notre Dame will tangle in Atlanta next Monday for the Natty  

NFL WILDCARD ROUND RESULTS 

The Wildcard Round in the NFL playoffs will finish up tonight with the Rams and Vikings being forced to play in Arizona because of the wild fires. On Saturday Houston smoked the Chargers 32-12 and Baltimore knocked up the Steelers 28-14. Yesterday the Bills ran away from the Broncos 31-7, Philly strangled the Packers 22-10, and Washington doinked in a field goal at the buzzer to beat Tampa Bay 23-20. Next week’s Divisional Round looks like this: Houston’s at Kansas City Saturday afternoon followed by Washington at Detroit Saturday night. Philly’s at home against tonight’s winner Sunday afternoon with Baltimore at Buffalo the weekend capper Sunday night 

THUNDER WEEKEND SWEEP 

The Ok  City Thunder bounced back strong for their 15 game win streak snapping loss last Wednesday at Cleveland with a couple blow out wins this weekend. OKC embarrassed the Knicks inside Madison Square Garden on Friday night 126-101. Isaiah Joe poured in 31 off the bench. SGA had 39. Then yesterday Ok City obliterated Washington 136-95. OKC had 7 in double figures led by Shai’s 27 and Aaron Wiggins added 23. Ok City’s in Philly tomorrow night before returning home for a rematch with Cleveland Thursday. 

CUMMINS MISSES CUT IN PGA TOUR SEASON OPENER 

Wford’s Quade Cummins got off to a rough start in the 2025 PGA Tour season. Quade shot 3 over 73 on Thursday then added an even par 70 to finish plus 3 and missing the first cut of the season. Quade’s back at it this week in the California desert at the tournament formerly known as the Bob Hope.
