HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS 

It was a busy day all across Western Oklahoma with multiple high school basketball tournaments tipping off their first rounds. Elk City was up in Woodward. The Elkettes improved to 3-0 with a 62-17 win over Enid’s JV. Elk City had 3 in double figures led by Campbell Garbarino’s 12. The Big Elks earned their first win of the season over Perryton, TX to move into the semifinals. Elk City led 33-32 with 1.5 seconds left, but Perryton still had a chance...... Tucker Garza paced the Elks with 14. Keyes had 8 along with that game saving block. Both teams drew Liberal, KS in today’s semifinals. 

Leedey’s hosting the So Canadian Classic. In first round action for the girls, Hammon smoked Hoops for Christ 60-18, Leedey beat Balkok-Forgan 51-38, AB edged Okarche 46-45, and C-R handled Vici 51-7. Today’s semifinals will beat Hammon/Leedey and AB/C-R. The boys bracket saw Okarche whallop Hoops for Christ 93-34, Leedey outlasted Balko-Forgan 47-38, AB held off Vici 52-42, and Hammon topped C-R 52-41. The boys semifinals will be Okarche/Leedey and AB/Hammon 

Merritt’s up in Mooreland for their Holiday Classic. The Oilerettes spanked FGFS 61-12. The Oilers beat up on Mooreland 57-44. The Oilerettes play Turpin in the semifinals. The Oilers take on Texoma 

Canute’s over in Burns Flat. The Trojanettes got all over Mangum 65-17. The Trojans flogged OBA 74-30. Canute’s girls will take on Hennessey in the semis. The boys draw Thomas 

Erick is down in Granite for the Best of the Southwest tournament. The Lady Bearcats fell to Inidahoma 47-34. They’ll play Pathways in the cons semis. The Bearcats ran away from C-R JV 82-46. They’ll face Carnegie in the semis
