THUNDER WIN; UPDATES ON J DUB AND CASON WALLACE INJURIES

There wasn’t any good news prior to OK City thunder’s game last night inside the Paycom Center against Phoenix. GM Sam Presti gave an update on the injuries from Sunday night’s game against the Clippers, and he painted an exceedingly grim picture for both Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace. J Dub went down with a gruesome looking leg injury that turns out to be a broken fibula and dislocated ankle. No timetable was given for his return, but if you look at two similar injuries he won’t be available until next season sometime. Both Paul George and Gordon Heyward had similar injuries and that timetable was 12-18 months. Presti also announced Cason Wallace tore his labrum muscle in his shoulder. He’s set for surgery as well, and the success of that surgery will start to determine his timetable for return. There’s a real chance that 40% of OKC’s starting lineup will not be available the rest of this season. On the court last night the Thunder put their best foot forward. Ok City whipped up on Phoenix 125-114. AJ Mitchell was fantastic leading oKC with 30 on a 10/16 shooting night. SGA was his usual self with 26 on 11.18 shooting. The Thunder improve to 4-0. They get tonight off before heading down to Dallas tomorrow night to face the Mavs.

WORLD SERIES GAME 3

Game 3 of the World Series was last night at the Trop down in Tampa. Milwaukee won the first two games at home before the scene shifted down to Florida. The Brewers led 2-0 heading into the 5th inning. The Brewers had two on and two out when everything went crazy. The Brewers managed 7 straight two out hits that led to 8 2 out runs and a 10-0 Milwaukee lead. It’s the most two out runs ever scored in a World Series Game much less and inning. Milwaukee went on to win Game 3 10-1 to take a 3 games to none lead in the series. Robert Gasser started for the Brewers. He faced the minimum through 6 innings giving up no runs on a hit with 3 strikeouts and a walk. He became the first pitcher since Curt Schilling in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series to face the minimum through 6. He’s the first lefty since Sandy Koufax in the 1965 World Series to face the minimum through 6. At the plate Jackson Churio went 4 for 5 while William Contreras and Brice Turang both had 3 hits in 5 at bats. Milwaukee will try to sweep the Rays tonight and earn their first World Series title in franchise history.
