Elk City man loses control on wet I-40

Elk City, OK – A 27-year-old Elk City man was injured Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 eastbound at mile marker 38 in Beckham County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Brandin R. Williamson was traveling east at a high rate of speed about 2:55 p.m. when his vehicle lost traction on a wet roadway, left the roadway to the right, and struck a guardrail. Williamson was ejected about 20 feet from where the vehicle came to rest.

OHP reported he was injured but not deceased. No other vehicles or passengers were involved. Troopers noted seat belts were not in use. Next of kin has been notified.

The crash was investigated by OHP Troop H.
