The Penny News 800

Clinton, OK – Clinton Middle School students were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a possible fire was reported atop the school’s cafeteria.

Fire alarms sounded, and there was a report of visible smoke inside the building. Students were transported by bus to the Tornado Dome on the high school campus for their safety and to evaluate the situation.

The Clinton Fire Department responded and worked to determine the source of the smoke. No visible damage was found, and crews noted that a roofing company had been working on top of the building at the time.

The scene was deemed safe for students to return after the earlier evacuation.
