Boater Rescued After Falling Into Canton Lake Without Life Jacket

Canton Lake, OK — A boating incident on Canton Lake prompted an emergency response Sunday evening after a man fell into the water without a life jacket and couldn’t immediately be located.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Weatherford 911 received the call at 6:08 PM reporting the missing boater in Blaine County. Authorities were told the man had fallen off a boat and disappeared beneath the water. He was not wearing a life jacket.

An OHP Trooper was dispatched from Foss Lake to assist. However, at 6:20 PM, dispatchers advised that the man had been located and was being brought to shore by boat to meet fire and EMS crews.

The individual was taken to the hospital, treated, and later released. No further details have been released.
