Elk City, OK — Authorities are searching for 37-year-old Robert Luna of Lubbock, Texas, after an alleged attempted home break-in last month in Elk City. Luna has multiple outstanding warrants in western Oklahoma, including serious felony charges in Beckham County.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed May 27, 2025, Luna was caught on surveillance footage allegedly trying to force his way into a home on S Oliver St. in Elk City on May 19. A neighbor, who lived nearby, reported the incident and provided video showing Luna at the back door around 1:30 PM. In the footage, he can be seen attempting to open the door before being confronted by the resident. When asked if he was the subject of a police search, Luna allegedly denied it and walked away.

Despite claiming to authorities later that he was on his way to turn himself in, Luna never appeared at the police department. Elk City Police say he was last seen walking away from the neighborhood and has not been located since.

The affidavit also references a public post made by Elk City PD on April 22 seeking help locating Luna for an unrelated felony warrant involving domestic assault and battery by strangulation.

Further investigation revealed that Luna is also wanted for exploitation of an elderly person or disabled adult by deception or intimidation—one of the most serious charges listed among his active warrants.

As of press time, Luna remains at large.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Elk City Police Department at 580-225-1212.
