Mustang Man Wanted for Burglary After Stolen Vehicle Investigation

The Penny News 598

Clinton, OK — A warrant has been issued for John Tipton Lyles, 32, of Mustang, following an investigation into a February burglary at a Clinton business.

According to court documents filed April 22 in Custer County, Lyles is accused of breaking into a building in the 300 block of E. Commerce Street and stealing a 2020 Polaris Ranger. The owner reported the theft on February 20 after noticing the vehicle missing from his shop.

Officers later recovered the stolen Polaris in Washita County, where deputies arrested Lyles. Authorities say Lyles was found with a backpack containing a check made out to him by the vehicle’s owner — further tying him to the burglary.

As of press time, Lyles has not been arrested on the new charge. His bond is set at $20,000, and a court date will be scheduled once he is in custody.
