Fatal Crash Near Arnett Claims Life of Arkansas Man

Ellis County, OK – A fatal single-vehicle collision occurred early Friday morning, January 31, 2025, at approximately 7:17 a.m. on U.S. Highway 283 and East County Road 62, about one mile east and two miles south of Arnett, Oklahoma.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2020 Ford F-150, driven by 43-year-old Jason O. Brown of Ozark, Arkansas, was traveling southbound on U.S. 283 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the roadway to the right. The truck struck a concrete embankment and came to rest on its wheels.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. He was transported to Shaw Funeral Home in Vici, Oklahoma.

Authorities confirmed that Brown was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The Arnett Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated him from the vehicle.

Weather and road conditions were reported as clear and dry at the time of the accident. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The crash was investigated by Trooper Travis Burgess #233 of the Beaver County detachment of Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Troop I. Emergency crews from the Arnett Fire Department and other local agencies assisted at the scene.
