Washita County, OK – A 21-year-old Burns Flat resident was injured Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Washita County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, near North 2110 Road and East 1120 Road, about six miles northwest of Burns Flat.

OHP reported the vehicle was traveling westbound on East 1120 Road when it left the roadway to the right and traveled approximately 174 feet before striking a bridge post. The vehicle then rotated and rolled backward down a creek embankment approximately 42 feet before coming to rest.

The driver, whose name was being withheld pending notification, was transported to an Elk City hospital. The driver initially was reported to have suffered a leg injury and a laceration to the head. Hospital personnel later determined the driver had suffered a pelvic injury rather than a leg injury.

OHP reported the driver was not wearing a seat belt. No passengers were reported in the vehicle.
