Caddo County, OK – Two Oklahoma City residents were killed and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Interstate 40 in Caddo County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 3:32 p.m. Saturday, August 29, near mile marker 91, about five and a half miles east of Hydro.
OHP identified the driver of one vehicle as 21-year-old Eric Miller of Burns Flat. Miller was injured in the crash. Two passengers in his vehicle were also injured. According to the collision report, seat belts were not in use by all occupants of the vehicle.
The second vehicle was driven by 73-year-old Jean Giles of Oklahoma City. Giles was injured in the collision and died as a result of the crash.
A passenger in the vehicle, 75-year-old Gregory Giles of Oklahoma City, was also killed. OHP reported that both occupants of the second vehicle were wearing seat belts.
Both lanes of westbound I-40 were closed for approximately four and a half hours due to the wreck.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Next of kin have been notified.
