Clinton, OK – The Oklahoma Route 66 Association marked the 100th anniversary of America's Mother Road on Saturday by expanding its traditional Hall of Fame ceremony into a larger Route 66 Centennial Celebration at the Frisco Conference Center in Clinton.

The event brought together Route 66 enthusiasts, community members, authors, artists, and tourism supporters for an afternoon celebrating Oklahoma's role in the history of the iconic highway.

A highlight of the celebration was the induction of new members into the Oklahoma Route 66 Hall of Fame. As part of the ceremony, Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell was recognized as a special Centennial Hall of Fame inductee for his efforts to preserve and promote Route 66 throughout Oklahoma. Organizers also announced one living and one posthumous Hall of Fame recipient during the ceremony.

The Oklahoma Route 66 Museum and the Oklahoma Historical Society joined the celebration with historic exhibits highlighting the legacy of the Mother Road. Visitors also enjoyed exclusive Centennial merchandise, book signings by Oklahoma Route 66 authors, artwork from Route 66 artist Lynne Chastain, classic automobiles, door prizes, and family-friendly activities.

A new outdoor Route 66 photo stand-in also made its debut during the event, giving attendees another way to commemorate the Centennial celebration.

Organizers said the expanded event not only celebrated the highway's 100th anniversary but also honored Clinton natives Jack and Gladys Cutberth, whose early advocacy helped establish Route 66 as one of America's most recognized highways.

The annual celebration highlighted Route 66's continued importance to Oklahoma tourism and local communities while encouraging visitors to explore the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum and other attractions in Clinton.
