Weatherford, OK – Kennedie Helton of Weatherford has been named the recipient of the Garrett Daniel Carter Memorial Scholarship at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Helton is a student in SWOSU’s College of Pharmacy and is pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. The scholarship supports students who are enrolled in the SWOSU College of Pharmacy’s PharmD/MBA dual degree program.

The Garrett Daniel Carter Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Garrett Daniel Carter, a 2016 graduate of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy. Following Carter’s passing in 2021, his parents, Mark Carter and Kim Carter of Stillwater, Oklahoma, created the endowment to provide ongoing scholarship support to pharmacy students.

SWOSU is nationally recognized for its pharmacy program and commitment to preparing students for successful careers in healthcare and other professions. For more information about the Garrett Daniel Carter Memorial Scholarship or any SWOSU Foundation funds, please contact the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. at 580-774-3267 or visit www.SWOSUFoundation.com.
