Registrations Open for SWOSU Music Camps 2026

Weatherford, OK – The Department of Music at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) invites middle and high school musicians to register for its 2026 summer music camps. Celebrating their 71st year, the camps offer a variety of opportunities for students of varying grade levels and musical interests.

SWOSU’s 2026 Music Camps include the following:

  • June 7–10: String Camp

  • June 9–12: Musical Theater Camp

  • June 10–12: Jazz Camp

  • June 14–17: All-State Choral Camp

  • June 21–24: Middle School Band Camp

  • July 12–17: Band Camp

SWOSU Music Camps bring a special energy to campus each year. These programs provide students with the opportunity to learn from and work with talented conductors and teachers, participate in ensembles, and hone musical skills while making lasting friendships and memories. Approximately 1,000 students and faculty travel from around the region to attend camps each year.

About SWOSU Department of Music

The Department of Music at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is one of the largest music programs in the region, with graduates working as educators, performers, and industry professionals across Oklahoma and the United States. The department offers undergraduate degrees in music education, performance, music business, and music therapy, along with graduate programs in performance, music therapy, and music education. Students study with faculty who are active performers and educators and gain experience through ensembles, applied instruction, and regular performances. The department also hosts outreach programs such as the annual SWOSU Music Camps, which bring hundreds of middle and high school students to campus each summer.
