Tabor Marlatt Named 2025-2026 Ashenfelter Scholar at SWOSU

Weatherford, OK – The 2025-2026 Dr. Melody Ashenfelter Scholar at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is Tabor Marlatt of Sharon, Oklahoma. The Ashenfelter Scholarship is awarded annually to a student studying in the Everett Dobson College of Business & Technology at SWOSU.

Marlatt is a 2022 graduate of Sharon-Mutual High School. He is currently a double major pursuing bachelor’s degrees in both Accounting and Exercise Science at SWOSU. Marlatt was a member of the 17th SWOSU President’s Leadership Class (PLC). Regarding his future, Marlatt said, “Upon graduation, I intend to work in finance, specifically commercial lending. I plan on pursuing a masters in Kinesiology and a Doctorate in Kinesiology."

A native of Gotebo, Oklahoma, Melody Ashenfelter, CPA, retired from SWOSU in 2019 following an academic career of over 31 years. Ashenfelter previously taught accounting at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. Ashenfelter earned her doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
