SWOSU Names Cindy Hunt as Ann Gillingham Memorial Scholar

Weatherford, OK – Cindy Hunt of Hydro, Oklahoma has been named the Ann Gillingham Memorial Teaching Scholarship winner at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Hunt is an educator at Hydro-Eakly Public Schools and is pursuing her master’s degree in Education Administration at SWOSU.

The Ann Gillingham Memorial Teaching Scholarship was established in 2002 By David L. Gillingham. The award is given to Education majors at SWOSU who are employed as elementary through eighth grade teachers at Hydro-Eakly schools with less than 10 years of experience.

The Ann Gillingham Memorial Teaching Scholarship is stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. The Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy, award scholarships, and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU.
