Reckless Driver Arrested in Beckham County with 47 Grams of Methamphetamine

More details have emerged about the woman arrested late last month in Beckham County after being found with illegal drugs during a traffic stop.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 57-year-old Christi Rae Walker of Hobart was arrested on October 24 when the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office dispatched a deputy in response to a call about a reckless driver heading eastbound on Interstate 40 near the 1-mile marker.

The reporting party stated that the driver allegedly could not maintain a lane and at one point had driven into a ditch. The vehicle reportedly struck something that caused its bumper to come off.

The affidavit stated that deputies were able to locate the vehicle and pull it over near the 20-mile marker, where they conducted a field sobriety test on Walker. They determined that she was allegedly under the influence of a substance other than alcohol.

Walker reportedly granted permission for a search of her vehicle, during which the deputy found two bags containing suspected methamphetamine and two syringes filled with a clear liquid. Walker allegedly stated the liquid was methamphetamine.

The total weight of the suspected methamphetamine found was 47 grams. Walker was charged with trafficking and DUI in Beckham County District Court.
