HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS 

The last couple games before the Christmas break were played were played on Friday and Saturday. Both Elk City teams went down to Tuttle for Western Conf action on Friday night. The Elkettes fought hard but ultimately suffered their first loss 58-52 to #9 Tuttle. The Lady Tigers made 23 of 27 free throws in the win. The Elks played their best offensive half in the second half but it wasn’t enough in a 42-34 loss. The Elkettes also played Saturday afternoon against Lawson. Elk City improved to 7-1 with a 68-27 win.  

Paragontv had a couple games on Friday night as well. Hammon swept Arnett on the road Friday night. The Lady Warriors blew away the Lady Wildcats 60-26. The Warriors came back to beat 56-41. The Merritt Oilerettes smoked Hinton Lady Comets 64-24. The Oilers knocked off the Comets 46-37.  

COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF STARTS TOMORROW 

The first round of the college football playoffs did not provide much suspense with four games over Friday and Saturday. On Friday night Notre Dame whipped Indiana 27-17. On Saturday Penn St hammered SMU 38-10. Texas held off hard charging Clemson 38-24. Ohio St obliterated Tennessee 42-17. That sets up the quarterfinal round on New Years Eve and New Years Day. New Years Eve it’ll be Penn St vs Boise St in the Fiesta Bowl. New Years Day it’ll be Texas and AZ st in the Peach Bowl. Oregon takes on Ohio St in the Rose Bowl. Georgia will meet Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. 

THUNDER AT HOME TONIGHT 

The Ok City Thunder are back home tonight for a single game ahead of the Christmas holiday against Washington. OKC swept a road back to back in Florida over Orlando and MIami over the weekend. The Thunder are atop the Western Conf standings at 22-5, four games ahead of the Grizzlies in the loss column. You can hear Thunder/Wizards tonight on 98.1fm and 1240 am. Pregame starts at 5:30 with the tip to come at 7
