HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS RESULTS

There was a ton of high school hoops on the docket last night all across Western Oklahoma. Elk city hosted Childress inside the Pioneer Center for a doubleheader. Class 4A’s #17 Elkettes improved to 6-0 with a 59-42 win. Abby Brown torched the nets with 24. Ella Sottile was in double figures with 12. The Elks fell to 1-5 in a 57-35 loss. Tucker Garza had 9.

ParagonTv was full of hoops action last night. On the girls side of things, it was a top 20 battle in Class A over in Canute. The #6 Trojanettes whipped #20 AB 53-22. Class B #2 Hammon smoked Navajo 56-11. In a battle of top 15 Class B teams #6 Arnett topped #12 Leedey 53-43. Class 2A #7 Merritt hammered Apache 72-40 behind 34 from Marley Mong. In those boys games, Canute outlasted AB 54-46, #6 Hammon flogged Navajo 63-12, #12 Leedey held off Arnett 38-32, and Merritt beat Apache 47-36.

THUNDER FALL IN NBA CUP FINALS

The Ok City Thunder picked the worst time to play their worst game so far this season in the NBA Cup Finals last night in Vegas against Milwaukee. OKC was held to a season low in points in a 97-81 loss. Ok City was dreadful behind the arc, making 5-32 from deep. Giannia Antetokoumpo scored 26 and was named the MVP of the in season tournament. The good news is this game doesn’t count in the standings or against the Thunder’s regular season record. They’ll fly across the country today and get back at it tomorrow night in Orlando against the Magic.
