Sales Tax Surges Across Western Oklahoma in Latest Distribution

Oklahoma City, OK – Sales tax collections are in for the November 10, 2025 distribution, reflecting local transactions from September 16–30 and estimated sales from October 1–15. The report from the Oklahoma Tax Commission shows most area towns up over last year, with statewide numbers also posting double–digit growth.

Locally in western Oklahoma, Elk City collected $1,403,972.87, a 21.1 percent increase from the $1,159,452.13 reported in November 2024. Weatherford received $1,096,538.50, up 8.8 percent from last year’s $1,007,324.26, and Clinton posted $551,876.32, a 3.1 percent gain over $535,282.44.

By comparison, Altus brought in $1,100,208.29, a 6.1 percent increase from $1,036,516.73 a year ago. Woodward recorded $1,038,425.36, up 3.5 percent from the $1,002,694.49 reported in November 2024.

Among smaller communities in the region, Sayre reported $175,429.46, a jump of 22.3 percent from $143,363.14. Mangum collected $54,185.25, up 2.3 percent from $52,956.52. Cordell was the only town in the group to see a decline, receiving $86,717.19, down 10.5 percent from $96,919.26 last year.

According to the Tax Commission, $207,851,500 in sales tax collections was returned to Oklahoma cities and towns, an increase of $17,158,965 from the $190,692,535 distributed in November 2024. Statewide, Oklahoma reported $245,179,604.83 in sales tax collections, a 10 percent increase compared to $222,746,988.18 last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns totaled $35,651,131.
