Clinton, OK — Ashley Dawn Beal, 40, has been charged in Custer County District Court after a white 2012 Ford pickup reported stolen in Clinton was stopped by police early Oct. 19, according to a probable cause affidavit.

A probable cause affdiavit alleges unauthorized use of a vehicle [felony] and malicious injury to property under $1,000 [misdemeanor]. A supplemental filing seeks punishment after former conviction of two or more felonies, which could enhance the range to 4 years to life if she is convicted.

Around 3:45 a.m. Oct. 19, officers located a white Ford F-350 near 4th Street and Terrace Avenue. Beal allegedly said she had taken the truck. The owner later told authorities the pickup was stolen and that Beal did not have permission to use it, the affidavit states. Beal was arrested and advised of her rights.

Beal told officers she left a local casino with two men, was pushed out of a different vehicle near a hotel, then tried to reach a nearby RV park. She said she climbed a barbed-wire fence to access the Ford and drove through fencing to leave. At the reported theft location, 1500 S. 28th Street, officers did not find a spot where a fence had been driven through but noted an open metal gate that is usually secured with a chain and padlock. Damage was estimated under $1,000.

Court records referenced in the filing indicate Beal has prior felony convictions in Oklahoma County from 2016 and 2020.

Beal was booked into the Custer County Jail. The truck was returned to its owner. All charges are accusations, and Beal is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Court dates were not listed in the affidavit at press time.
