Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana Trafficking Arrest on I-40

Beckham County, OK – A routine traffic stop on Interstate 40 led to the arrest of two Arkansas men after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper discovered seven pounds of marijuana and THC products in their vehicle.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Beckham County District Court, a trooper was monitoring traffic near mile marker 9 on September 24 when he observed a white Chevrolet Trax cross the fog line onto the eastbound shoulder. The trooper pursued and stopped the vehicle near mile marker 16.5.

The driver, identified as Prince Evan Greene, 21, of Arkansas, told the trooper he and his passenger had traveled to California for a one-day family visit. The passenger, identified as Kaleb R. Jones, gave a conflicting statement, saying the pair stayed in California for three days.

After Greene refused consent for a search, the trooper deployed his certified narcotics canine who alerted to the presence of drugs at the rear of the SUV. A search uncovered a black trash bag containing seven vacuum-sealed packages of raw marijuana, weighing approximately seven pounds, hidden in the spare tire compartment.

Troopers also found a backpack containing four dispensary-labeled marijuana containers and a THC vape pen. The dispensary products weighed about 21 grams and were located among Greene’s personal items, including his credit card.

Both Greene and Jones were arrested at approximately 10:05 a.m. and booked into the Beckham County Jail for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Bond was set at $50,000 each.

The vehicle was impounded. According to the affidavit, neither suspect resisted arrest, and Greene had no prior criminal history.
