Oklahoma City, OK – Committee assignments for the Oklahoma House of Representatives were announced by Speaker-Elect Kyle Hilbert, setting the stage for the upcoming legislative session. Among those receiving prominent assignments was Rep. Nick Archer, R-Elk City.

Archer has been named Chair of the House Energy Committee, a position that places him at the center of debate on some of Oklahoma’s most pressing energy issues, including wind farm setbacks, eminent domain, power grids, and utilities regulation. Rep. Ken Luttrell, R-Ponca City, will serve as vice chair.

In addition to leading the Energy Committee, Archer will also serve on the Energy and Natural Resources Oversight Committee, which monitors policies tied to natural resources and energy development. His involvement ensures western Oklahoma will have a direct voice in oversight discussions that affect rural communities and the state’s energy sector.

Archer was also appointed to the A&B Transportation Subcommittee, a panel that handles budget matters tied to transportation. This assignment puts him in a position to influence funding decisions that affect highways and infrastructure projects across the state.

The second session of the 60th Oklahoma Legislature is scheduled to convene on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City.
