Local Sales Tax Collections Show Gains Across Most Cities

Oklahoma City, OK – Sales tax collections are in for September 2025, reflecting transactions from July 16–30 and estimated sales from August 1–15. Most area towns reported increases compared to the same period last year, with statewide numbers also trending higher.

Locally in Western Oklahoma, Elk City collected $1,381,068.29, up 9.4% from the $1,261,734.66 reported in September 2024. Weatherford received $1,159,476.73, an increase of 6.2% from last year’s $1,091,772.90, and Clinton posted $553,138.93, up 3.3% from $535,427.48.

By comparison, Altus brought in $1,154,206.59, a decline of 2.4% from $1,182,825.06, and Woodward recorded $1,180,780.03, marking an 8% jump over $1,093,313.30.

Smaller communities in the region had Sayre reporting $170,593.41, up 25.6% from $135,826.12. Mangum collected $66,213.29, an increase of 28.6% from $51,518.48, and Cordell registered $92,950.03, slightly higher at 2.6% over last year’s $90,551.11.

Statewide, Oklahoma reported $251,570,029.65 in sales tax collections, a 5.9% increase compared to $237,451,087.06 in September 2024.
