Brooklyn Man Charged in Custer County with Drug Trafficking

Custer County, OK – A Brooklyn, New York man is facing felony drug trafficking charges in Custer County after authorities allege he was caught transporting more than 25 pounds of marijuana.

Quan Chen, 46, was formally charged in Custer County District Court with one count of trafficking in illegal drugs (marijuana), a felony under Oklahoma law. Prosecutors allege the incident occurred on September 2, 2025, when Chen was stopped along Interstate 40 at Mile Marker 75.

Court documents state Chen was driving a gold 2020 Ford van when more than 25 pounds of marijuana were discovered inside the vehicle. Under Oklahoma statute, possession of that amount qualifies as trafficking, which carries severe penalties. If convicted, Chen faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine ranging from $25,000 to $200,000.

His next appearance is scheduled for September 19 at the Custer County Courthouse in Arapaho.
