Elk City, OK — An early morning high-speed chase through Elk City has landed a Missouri man in the Beckham County Jail with a $25,000 bond and a list of charges.

Antonio Intzin-Ramirez, 46, was arrested around 3:36 a.m. on May 12 after leading officers on a pursuit that began late the night before on May 11. Officers observed a black Dodge pickup traveling at high speeds eastbound on 3rd Street without headlights on. Attempts to initiate a traffic stop triggered the suspect to flee, prompting a pursuit that wove through multiple intersections—including several areas under road construction—without stopping.

At times reaching speeds over 90 mph, Intzin-Ramirez allegedly ran stop signs and drove recklessly through intersections at 3rd and Main, Boone Ave., and Washington Ave. The pursuit eventually continued onto I-40, with officers losing visual contact near Exit 32 before locating the vehicle abandoned at a local convenience store.

Intzin-Ramirez was found nearby and admitted to fleeing from police. Authorities say he did not possess a valid driver’s license and that his Missouri license had been revoked. Insurance on the vehicle had also expired in 2022. A passenger was detained and later released.

Charges filed against Intzin-Ramirez include:

  • Endangering others while attempting to elude law enforcement

  • Driving with a suspended or revoked license

  • Failure to maintain insurance

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 9, 2025.

Authorities noted that a language barrier required additional assistance for communication during the arrest. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about reckless driving and the importance of maintaining valid driving credentials and insurance.
