Mangum, OK – The Old Greer County Museum & Hall of Fame, Inc. in Mangum has been named one of the recipients of the Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program, securing funding to support its mission of preserving and celebrating the area's rich history. The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) awarded a total of $577,655.25 to 40 organizations across the state, with the Old Greer County Museum among the honored grantees.

This vital grant will allow the Old Greer County Museum to continue its work in collections care, exhibit development, and educational programming — ensuring that Mangum’s unique stories are preserved for future generations.

"The Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program is a powerful tool for connecting communities with their history,” said Trait Thompson, executive director of the OHS. "These grants help organizations like the Old Greer County Museum safeguard local stories that might otherwise be lost."

The grant recipients were approved by the OHS Board of Directors at their quarterly meeting on January 22 after a thorough review. This year introduced a larger maximum award amount of $25,000, empowering projects with even greater impact.
