California Men Arrested in Custer County on Drug Trafficking and Theft Charges

Custer County, OK – Two men from California were arrested following a theft investigation at the Weatherford Walmart that led police to uncover heroin, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia inside a semi-truck.

Jagatjit Singh Virk, 37, of Bakersfield, was taken into custody on April 4, 2025, after officers responded to a report of a man loading stolen merchandise into a semi-truck parked behind Walmart. A traffic stop was conducted shortly after on I-40 eastbound. Police identified Virk as the driver and Jagdeep Singh as the passenger.

During the search of the semi, officers discovered stolen goods from Walmart valued at $155.56 along with several controlled substances, including 11.8 grams of heroin, 1.42 grams of cocaine, and 1.17 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. Officers also found foil with burnt residue and CO2 cartridges.

Virk has been charged in Custer County District Court with:

  • Trafficking in illegal drugs (heroin)

  • Possession of controlled dangerous substances (psilocybin and cocaine)

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

  • Larceny of merchandise from a retailer

Jagdeep Singh was also charged in Custer County District Court with:

  • Aggravated trafficking in illegal drugs

  • Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (misdemeanor)

  • Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (misdemeanor)

  • Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor)

  • Larceny of merchandise from a retailer (misdemeanor)

According to police, both men gave conflicting stories about their relationship and the stolen items. Officers say the heroin was found in a form consistent with trafficking, and Virk initially identified the substance as opium before testing confirmed it was heroin.

Bond for Virk was set at $75,000. Both men remain in custody pending further court proceedings.
