Custer County, OK — A Las Cruces, New Mexico man is facing serious drug trafficking charges in Oklahoma after authorities say he was caught with a significant quantity of methamphetamine.

According to court documents filed in Custer County District Court on February 18, 2025, Jesus Serrato-Aguero, 35, has been charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Illegal Drugs (Methamphetamine), a felony under Oklahoma law. Prosecutors allege that on or about February 16, 2025, Serrato-Aguero was found in possession of approximately 40,000 grams (40 kilograms) of methamphetamine.

District Attorney Angela C. Marsee filed the charges, stating that the defendant “unlawfully, willfully, knowingly, and wrongfully” possessed the controlled dangerous substance, which falls under Schedule II of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Act.

If convicted, Serrato-Aguero faces up to 20 years in prison and fines ranging from $25,000 to $200,000.
