Elk City School Board Prepares for January Meeting

Elk City, OK – The Elk City Board of Education is set to hold its regular meeting on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Board Conference Room at 300 N. Boone Ave, Elk City, OK. The meeting will focus on key topics ranging from financial updates to personnel decisions.

Agenda Highlights:

1. Public Comments: Community members wishing to speak must notify the Superintendent 24 hours before the meeting, per policy BED-R. Each speaker will have three minutes.

2. Consent Agenda: The board will review minutes from the December 31, 2024, meeting, along with financial reports, including the Superintendent’s financial update, Treasurer's report, and Activity Fund report.

3. Executive Session: A discussion will address the employment of Superintendent Mike Sparks and other personnel matters. The board will vote on whether to enter into executive session to deliberate these topics.

4. Action Items:

- Consideration of amendments to the Superintendent’s contract.

- Review and potential approval of Courtney Reyes as an adjunct for Elementary Education for the 2024–2025 school year.

5. Superintendent's Report:

- Updates on school building improvements.

- Recent resignations and district enrollment statistics.

- Announcement of the next regular meeting scheduled for February 10, 2025.
