Mangum, OK – A Missouri man was seriously injured Thursday in an accidental shooting during a hunting trip in Greer County, according to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.

Authorities said the man was hunting with another individual near Mangum when the incident occurred. The victim was struck by a gunshot and later airlifted to a hospital in Oklahoma City for treatment.

Officials confirmed the shooting happened on the opening day of Oklahoma’s spring turkey hunting season, which runs for approximately one month each year.

ODWC officials said a game warden is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, the exact location of the shooting has not been publicly released.

No further details about the victim’s condition or the events leading up to the shooting have been made available. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
