School Board and City Elections Set for May in Texas

Wheeler County, TX – Voters in Wheeler County, Texas will head to the polls in May for several school board and municipal races.

School Board Elections

Wheeler County school districts are preparing for board elections as part of the upcoming May election cycle.

At Wheeler ISD in Texas, Place 1 incumbent Misty Copeland is unopposed. In Place 2, incumbent Mark Marshall is seeking re-election and will face challengers Tammy Baker Moore and Billy Richardson.

Shamrock ISD and Fort Elliott CISD will not hold elections this year. As of press time, no information has been received from Kelton ISD. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

City Elections

The City of Shamrock, Texas will hold its municipal election on May 2, 2026. Offices on the ballot include mayor and two city council seats.

Mayor Lynn Ramsey has decided not to seek re-election, leaving the mayor’s seat open. Kenneth Campbell and Michael Mendoza have filed as candidates for the position.

Two council seats currently held by Russell Killingsworth and Mickey Mitchell will also be on the ballot. Both incumbents have filed to run again and will be joined by challenger James Henderson.

The City of Wheeler, Texas will not have a municipal election this year.
