PSO Brings Free LED Light Bulbs to Local Food Pantries Across Western Oklahoma

The Penny News 1035

Tulsa, OK – Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) is helping families in Western Oklahoma save energy and money through its Shine a Light Project, delivering free LED light bulbs to food pantries in communities including Elk City, Clinton, Weatherford, Hobart, and Cheyenne.

This year, PSO is distributing more than 30,000 energy efficient LED bulbs to 33 food pantries across its service area. The program works through trusted local organizations to make sure the bulbs reach households that need them most.

In Elk City, bulbs are available through St. Mathews. Clinton families can receive bulbs at Saint Mary’s Saint Vincent De Paul Food Pantry and Mission House. Weatherford distribution includes Connections Food and Resource Center and St. Eugene Catholic Church. In Hobart, the Kiowa County Service Agencies at First United Methodist Church are participating. Cheyenne residents can pick up bulbs through Rogers Mills Circle of Care.

Since the program launched in 2014, PSO has distributed more than one million LED light bulbs statewide.

PSO says partnering with local food pantries allows the company to support families in a practical way while strengthening the communities it serves.

The Shine a Light Project is available to food pantry clients, and PSO customers can also take advantage of rebates and instant discounts on energy efficient products year round.
